Ergonomics of Wear Liners

Wear is seldom the only reason that bulk material industries choose to consider and install new liners.  Worker ergonomics is also becoming a large factor is the decision-making process, with maintenance crews preferring smaller glued or bolt-in applications, rather than heavier wear material requiring hot-work permits.  Kinder offers a comprehensive range of Anti-Wear solutions to suit all materials handling applications.

K-Superline Engineered Polyurethane Liner

Polyurethane relies on its compression and rebound resilience to combat and handle wear, channelling the bulk material’s impact energy. Polyurethanes are becoming more popular in zones close to residential areas, where noise pollutions are a considered an issue. It’s lightweight properties, easy and flexible manipulation enable to it to be used in a variety of locations.

K-Slide and K-Slip – UHMPWE Liners

Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE) is primarily used in applications where material flow is an issue. This can be on feeder floors or in the discharge of chutes, bins and hoppers where hang-up related issues are present. UHMWPE is easy to manipulate, cut and machine into a variety of complex shapes, enabling it to be installed and held-in via an adhesive or readily available mechanical fasteners.

Some applications combine extreme abrasion, coarse bulk materials with flow inhibiting properties, such as vibratory feeders, scalping circuits and pugmills. In these applications, where a UHMPWE would not handle the throughput of a coarse ore, crushed rock or aggregate, a polished chromium carbide steel liner is preferential. By polishing the wear liner, a reduced coefficient of friction is achieved resulting in the increased slipperiness.

Ceramics
? [Learn more about K-Redi-Liner Ceramic]

Best considered for their installation in abrasive environments where sliding abrasion is only present, ceramics are known for their hardness and durability which are amongst the highest when selecting wear liners. To overcome impact applications, ceramics may be embedded into rubber or polyurethane to absorb the applied energy.

Liners are very application specific. There is no single liner material that will resolve all issues, so it is important that these are defined and scoped with an engineered recommendation. Kinder Australia offer solutions for various liner packages to ensure all wear related issues are resolved.
